In real life you may not often have the opportunity to try out the fancy restaurants that dot the landscape of your hometown. Between work obligations, school events, and all of the expenses that go along with being an adult, fancy nights out just aren’t in the forecast. Your visit to Park City, however, is a different story altogether, we think you should take the time to plan at least one visit (if not more) to any of our fanciest restaurants! Offering great food served by attentive staff, your getaway will shine a little brighter as you and your favorite traveling partner are spoiled in any or all the places to eat in Park City UT on our top 5 list.
Chimayo, 368 Main Street
Serving up romance and style with a laser focus on flavor, Chimayo, located in historic downtown Park City, is our favorite place to go for a special occasion. The southwest-centric menu is a sophisticated blend of surf, turf, and even wild game, including an Elk London Broil created with peppercorn sesame crusted elk, mashed potato quesadilla, grilled asparagus, and a green chile bearnaise. The restaurant is a cozy and colorful space, kept extra warm and romantic with multiple fireplaces, and an extensive wine menu helps warm visitors from the inside out!
Café Terigo, 424 Main Street
Just as everything wonderful starts on Main Street, most of our fancy restaurants are located there as well, including Café Terigo! Offering a menu filled with your Italian favorites created with a modern flair, the patio is the most requested seating area, offering heaters on cooler days, and umbrellas on sunnier days, ensuring that your dining experience will be just right as you devour cioppino and sip smooth and silky Italian red wines. Café Terigo is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, and reservations are required for dinner but not offered at lunch, so be sure to plan accordingly.
Buona Vita, 804 Main Street
Sometimes the fanciest dinners aren’t the ones that cost the most, nor are they the ones created with the most sophisticated ingredients. Sometimes, the most memorable meals will be the ones that taste like a hug from your grandma, and Buona Vita, another Italian restaurant we hope you find the time to visit, is one of the best huggers we know! The food served here is a mix of the classic dishes you love—bruschetta, pizza, and lasagna—with a few exotic choices thrown in, including a Buffalo Ravioli made with a white wine and tomato sauce that will rock your world. Offering an old world charm that invites you in, guests of Buona Vita feel like family when they step through the heavy glass doors that lead the way into paradise!
Handle, 136 Heber Avenue
The giant floral mural wall of Handle will be the first hint that this restaurant isn’t like any other you have visited, and when you get your first taste of the sophisticated flavors Chef Briar Handly creates, you may just decide to invest all your dining dollars into the meals served here. Offering a menu that changes with the seasons, the dishes served here are created with locally sourced ingredients that are simply delicious. As you and your family dine your way through the different categories that include a cold section with oysters and salads, a hot section with shishitos and pork belly, and a hearty section filled with fried chicken, burgers, and our favorite dish, the “Baller” bone in ribeye, don’t forget to save room for dessert—specifically, their whiskey caramel pudding made with male mascarpone and Chex mix streusel; trust us, this is a dessert that wows!
Riverhorse on Main, 540 Main Street
Even if you have never been to Park City before, chances are you have heard of Riverhorse on Main and are dying to try it yourself! Offering a dining experience that is elegant, sophisticated, and so very tasty, this special space has been impressing foodies and winning awards for its entire existence. Offering live music, a menu that changes frequently, and a wine cellar we would love to own, everything minute of your special night out is guaranteed to be one you will remember for years to come. Carnivores will love their Morgan Valley Lamb Pops, while the vegetarian in your group will wish they could order seconds of their Stuffed Portobella & Pasta. Reservations are required, but their mountain casual dress code ensures that you feel comfortable while enjoying the best meal of your life!
