8th Annual Community Tree Lighting and Fireworks at Canyons Village
When you reserve one of our vacation rentals here in Park City you will find that quite a few of them are located in Canyons Village, a neighborhood of Park City Mountain. This incredible community is always welcoming to our patrons and features a variety of events throughout the year. During the holiday season you will be able to check out the Annual Community Tree Lighting and Fireworks event in Canyons Village. This will be the 8th consecutive year for the event making it a staple for the community. This event takes place the Friday after Thanksgiving and features a whole evening full of exciting holiday events. Get to the event early at 3:00 PM to enjoy snacks, s’mores, and beverages over in Pendry Plaza to get into the holiday spirit. Live holiday music will begin at 4:00 PM. Pick up a holiday ornament over at Souvenir Park City Mountain while supplies last. Santa Claus shows up to the party himself at 4:30 PM for over an hour of photo opportunities to take with him. The official tree lighting begins at 5:45 PM where the incredible tree stands tall among the courtyard for all to see with hundreds of Christmas lights on it. The final act of the event will be the fireworks display starting just after the tree lighting to bring in the start of the holiday season. Park City Electric Parade
Another exciting holiday event that features countless Christmas lights all around you is the annual Park City Electric Parade. This is one of Park City’s smaller parade events, but it is still an exciting activity that you will not want to miss. The Park City Electric Parade features cars and floats that have been decorated by local businesses and community members with countless Christmas lights. Holiday music will be on hand to create a lovely atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy. The Park City Electric Parade typically kicks off right at 4:00 PM when Santa strolls into town down Main Street leading the parade for you to watch. The event continues into the official tree lighting at Miner’s Park at 5:30 PM. Stick around the area for hear carolers performing holiday renditions of your favorite songs from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This year’s Park City Electric Parade date has yet to be announced so keep an eye out for more information to come soon!
Stroll Through Historic Main Street
Seeing the Park City Christmas lights found all down Historic Main Street in Downtown Park City does not have to be limited to these events. Instead, you can always spend an evening with your family exploring the historic neighborhood marveling at all of the Christmas lights strung about. Historic Main Street features historic buildings and lamp posts all covered in thousands of Christmas lights to light up the night sky. Local businesses are also in the holiday spirit lighting up their front exteriors with plenty of lights to check out.
Main Street Snow Globe Stroll
Historic Main Street brings on the fun each holiday season with tons of Christmas displays located in the neighborhood. In addition to the tons of Christmas lights that are strung up you will also be able to check out the life size snow globes that are set up on Main Street. You will find seven snow globes in total that return year after year. The snow globes are each designed around a different holiday theme with previous year’s themes including Frosty the Snowman, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Rudolph, and many more. You will be able to find a map of where the snow globes will be located from Historic Park City once we get closer to the holidays!
